Fellowship

The Badaga Doctorates’ Fellowship

A structured programme of mentorship, funding guidance and academic support — connecting research scholars and postgraduate students from our community with doctorates already established in their field.

Why It Matters

Research Deserves a Community Behind It

Every doctorate in this Forum once stood where our scholars stand today — early in a research career, working out funding, publication and direction largely alone. The Fellowship exists to close that gap.

Between them, the members of the Badaga Doctorates’ Forum carry decades of research experience across science, engineering, medicine, management, the humanities and the social sciences. The Fellowship channels that experience directly toward the scholars and postgraduate students who need it most — not as a one-off gesture, but as an ongoing relationship between an established researcher and a rising one.

It is built on a simple belief: a scholar who is well mentored, well informed about the funding available to them, and well connected to their field finishes stronger work, and finishes it with less struggle. That is the outcome the Fellowship is designed to produce.

What The Fellowship Offers

Six Ways We Support Research Students

01

Personal Mentorship

Paired one-on-one with a doctorate in a matching or closely related discipline, for ongoing guidance through the research journey — not a single meeting, but a standing relationship.

02

Scholarship & Grant Guidance

Help identifying external scholarships, research grants and fellowships suited to your field, and practical guidance on preparing a competitive application.

03

Publication & Review Support

Feedback on papers and thesis chapters before submission, and introductions to reviewers and co-authors already working in your area within the network.

04

Conference & Travel Support

Guidance on funded conference opportunities, and introductions to Forum members who can co-present, collaborate or simply share what worked for them.

05

Career & Placement Guidance

Direct access to doctorates already established in academia, industry and research institutions, for honest career advice and, where appropriate, referrals.

06

A Lifelong Network

Membership in a community of 250-plus doctorates that outlasts the degree itself — a network scholars can keep drawing on long after they graduate.

Eligibility

Who Can Apply

The Fellowship is open to every member of the Badaga community who is currently registered for a Ph.D., or pursuing a master’s degree with a genuine research component — regardless of discipline, institution or where you are based. Fellows join automatically as members of the Badaga Higher Studies Forum, already more than 46 research scholars and postgraduate students strong.

There is no cost to join, and no restriction on field of study. If your work involves original research, there is a place for you here.
